Should lose that weight in a week I would guess, you dont wanna be killing yourself with cardio though, do you normally do much cardio ?

Cheers mate.

I don't normally do any cardio at all. I'm just adding an hours walk each day into the mix. Should be enough.

Haha!

It is just a mammoth amount of s**t. Its far from enjoyable too!

Simply, it's a bodybuilders pre-contest diet which apparently maintains strength and mass during calorific deficit.
I felt like it would work pre competition for me as I need to get quite lean to get to 82.5kg.

Penultimate session before Sundays comp.

Used it to go through my warm ups and my opener. Will do the same thing on Wednesday too then will rest until Sunday.

Belt, wraps and chalk worn on all sets. Competition conditions.

Squats
5 x 60kg
4 x 100kg
3 x 140kg
------------
1 x 160kg - Opener
1 x 175kg

Bench
5 x 60kg
4 x 80kg
3 x 100kg
------------
1 x 110kg - Paused - Opener
1 x 120kg - Paused

I am so much weaker on paused bench than touch and go! I guess this is normal?

Deadlifts
5 x 60kg
4 x 100kg
3 x 140kg
------------
1 x 180kg - Opener
1 x 205kg

Happy with my openers.
My strength seems unaffected by my weight loss and calorie deficit currently.

Still unsure of lift 2 and 3. Guess I will have to decide on the day...

Question:
These are my warm ups and openers for Sunday. Do you think this is a sensible plan?

Nice trial session there mate, openers looking strong. I know nothing about PL i'm afraid mate so not sure of your next attempts. Maybe go to your current PB or just under for 2nd attempt? Then a PB attempt for 3rd? Don't listen to me though lol! Best of luck bud.
Wes
From a purely personal point of view, I wouldn't Deadlift again now until Sunday, so long as you are confident with your opener there is nothing to be gained by pulling again this week. Give your body a rest. Everyone is different of course and everyone prepares differently. As for your warm ups, I know I always feel stronger banging out a few quick singles rather than anything for reps. Your Bench for example, 100 x 3 for a 110 opener looks quite heavy, but then you know your body better than anyone else, so as long as you're happy and confident with it, that's all that matters.
See you Sunday, good luck.

Cheers guys. Thanks for the input.

Sounds depressing!

You've probably said it somewhere on this thread but where do you think your bodyfat % currently lies?

Bloody hell!

Pete from TF! Long time no speak mate.

I've no idea what my BF is at the moment. I had it tested about 2 months ago and it was 11.75% (or something). I'm leaner than that now.

I'm certainly not shredded, but I am lean. There are some pictures on the forum of me somewhere.

Are you still training?

ur bench max is similar to mine n i always warm up with 100x3 , then 110x1, 120x1 then upto a 1rm. id stick with that.

personally on squat n deadlift id do an extra single 10kg below ur opener on squat n 20kg on opener deadlift. but thats just me, dont know how long ul have inbetween the warm up n the lifts so the extra single will mean the opening lift wont feel as much of a shock with the bigger jump in weight.

hope that makes sense. as for the 2nd/3rd attempts id just go on how easy the opener feels.

good luck for the comp

(p.s. worth noting i dont know much about PL comps)

Yeah, long time no speak! lol

Lower than 11.75% BF, maybe 10% then?

As to whether I'm training, to put it nicely, my training is VERY inconsistent - to the point where some of the lads on here used to take the piss and call me 'the Strongman who doesn't train'. I've not competed for years anyway. Shameful really but...

Anyway, good luck with your comp John.
