Hi Tony,

There are no categories in the novice/first timers class. As long as you haven't been competing in and winning novice/first timers comps then your welcome to compete.

Cheers

This comp is now full so we won't be taking anymore entries for the novice/first timers.

Hi bud,

i'm really disapointed but i won't be able to compete in the comp sorry. i've been having trouble with my training partners (work, babies, etc) over past few weeks or so and now i'm basically lifting on my own, it would seem, for the short term so no big big weights i guess. don't want to hurt myself. will probably still come down and watch and put some money in the charity box though.

No problem mate. Thanks for letting me know. I wish more people who may have changed their mind would have let me know. Still, when I am involved with running another novice event for charity, I will be sure to remember who let me know and who didn't as it will influence my decision whether or not to add their names to the list of competitors.

Thanks again.

yeah no problems mate. i bet it gets frustrating as hell when people don't let you know. common courtesy doesn't cost anything does it mate. still, that's the problems i have with my training partners so i can only imagine what you are going through trying to set up an event!!!

chin up mate it'll be a great day i'm sure. again, i'm gutted i wont be able to compete.

No problem at all mate. Just having a rant!!! Anyone on the First Timers/Novice list who hasn't yet paid or made any contact whatsoever is taking the place of a potential money raiser and it just isn't fair to those who want to compete or to Ross Stone and I who are trying to raise as much money as possible for a very worthy charity. Your mate and a few of the other lads have only recently been added to the list and they are all paying as soon as they can in all fairness.

A mate of mine lost his mum last week to cancer and a neighbour of mine is having treatment now. I would like to try and raise as much as possible, where do we get the forms Rob mate? Is there anything else we can do? I'm going to have a collection around work this week.

Hi mate,

There are sponsor forms available to download on page 6 of this thread. We have a registered charity number for this comp so we're hoping to raise as much as possible. I too have strong feelings about this charity as I lost my father to cancer in November 2009 aged 61.

One lad from Newport is up to nearly £300 already so I can't fault him for his hard work and efforts. There will be a supplement prize for the competitor who raises the most money just to add an extra incentive.

Good luck with the sponsorship mate.
