Afterwards I went to the gym for some benching, still had an easy 160kg bench and also an easy 130kg jerk.
Quited after first set of incline dumbbell presses with 55kg though due to a way too tired right shoulder Tongue

Standing with block: 14,75m
Standing with jump: 15,5m
Short glide with jump(6kg): 18,10m
Full glide with block(7,26kg): 16,75m

Full glide with jump with the 6k shot was slightly below 19m

We throw a lot with the lighter shot at practice. Mainly because with the adrenaline which comes from the big competition the speed I build up is more comparable to the 6kg than the 7 Happy

The throws are all with my right hand. We never switch in our throwing hand, mainly because all the motion is going exactly opposite then, and it's too difficult to do then Tongue

Interesting to see you use a lighter shot in training somthing have thought about doing myself when I get back to doing some throwing

Yeah the lighter shot actually helps me to get the same speed as i have in a competition with the heavier shot. So it helps mainly for that Grin

Will be playing with the lighter shot this weekend

Really need to get my technique up to scratch i tend to pick up elbow injuries with the heavier shot I can put a lot of force behind it but if my technique is out my elbow takes a hammering

My coach was having me do a lot more glides than throws before I left and I would only do about 12 actual throws in a session does that sound right ?

Milsy, where abouts are you training?

Are you competing this summer, we might end up competing against each other. Its open weight class so you cant duck me by staying in a higher weight class this time :-)

12 throws is really not much.
I throw about 50-70 shots per session normally, unless I'm in my heavy lifting weeks, then we reduce it to 35-50 Tongue

You would say that you get elbow injuries with the lower weights, because the speed of your arm increases and with a bad technique you overstretch it way too much.
My trainingbuddy sometimes even throws with a 5k shot, if i do that i will directly overstretch.

But if the way your coach trains you works, why change itTongue

It wouldn't be the way I would train you i think, but i don't know you so difficult to say Happy
