JC, I don't really count 23 as young, there are plenty people way stronger than me by this age (and before), maybe I'm just impatient!

Sparrow Legs/Combover, They were - I didn't realise the extent though because of ibuprofen and heat cream. Thought I could just go through it but it was getting worse and worse.

Rob, Rob, Rob... Heat cream is a gimmic for slack jawed faggots. Ibuprofen isnt a pain killer, it's an anti inflamatory. If taking it eased any pain you had whilst training I would hazard a guess that the pain was caused by inflamation.

Remember the piano player who hurt his hand and taped it up? What happened when he untaped it? CORRRRRECT! He couldnt play. Rest at this game at your peril mate. Trust me on this.

A couple of years ago my knees were so shot I couldnt walk, & I mean that literally. I had a week or two off squatting and then started doing 10's with 60K making slow increases on a weekly basis. I still remember the stick I took now. No one was laughing 4 months later though as I recall. Knees were great and squats were over 200K for 10's. It's still on my MT log somewhere. I also experimented with wrapping my knees too. Dont be scared to try it.

If the person telling you all this can outlift me Pete and Tony believe him, if not, well, it's a free country....Wink

Don't really understand what you're getting at Andy - I am still lifting albeit lightly and will be gradually increasing it hopefully, just as you did. I have done it in the past enough times, hell I started back benching 2kg dumbells after a shoulder operation.

Ibuprofen blocks pain receptors, so it is a pain killer - as well as an anti-inflammatory. The injury is not just inflammation, otherwise I wouldn't have been getting shooting pains and my hip/back locking up.

Don't really appreciate all this "soft git" s**t, I'll judge whats bad enough to stop me training thanks. It's my body.

Its never too late Carl.

Look at Vanessa Feltz, even she managed to turn it around for a while.

Have you never met Ste Turner? Does Ibuprofen kill someones sense of humour as well as their pain?

I'll judge whats bad enough to stop me training thanks.

Hell of an attitude for a guy who runs an open forum on weight training. In future I'll just keep any potentially helpfull suggestions out of your log.
It's my body.

Yep, and your log, and your forum, and your pram to throw your toys out of.

LOL

Rob once you've picked up your toys, all I was getting at was that deadlifting before you found out about your injury didn't appear to be 'bad enough to stop you training, thanks' as you were setting pb's (which the body wouldn't normally allow) and you never mentioned any pain from them at the time. Obviously you don't want to make anything worse, but if they weren't making it worse, why stop them (or go so light on them)?
