How could I forget Frank!

So my forecast for the All England is:

1. Stewart.
2. Little Mark.
3. Scott.
4. Horny James.
5. Tall Mark.
6. Frank.
7. Handsome James.
8. Me
9. Big Dave.
It could be close between me & Big Dave and it looks like Pete the Chair has a lot of spotting to do...

Tonight at the Farm, I got well and truly beaten by my good friends Stewart and Mark, got my squats done per the plan (its mapped out for the All England build up now) so I thought I would set a lift of the month, the trap bar (high handles).

Normally I would consider a 260 deadlift as good, but tonight it was s**t, the way it goes though. Myself and Mark worked up to 260 pretty easily, then went 280 and Mark did it, however I hit a wall, my legs wouldn't budge it more than an inch! Then to compound problems further Mark went and did 300kg, fair play it was impressive, and then Stewart PB'ed and did 280.

Anyway, never mind, session as follows

1) Squats
W/U to 150x3
W/S 172.5x3, 177.5x3, 172.5x3

2) Trap Bar
108, 148, 188 x 3, 228, 260 x 1, 280 x Fail!

Bench session with James and his protégé this morning aka Molly (his daughter). Bench has been reset, however, James thought we should start a bit heavier, so see how things go. My elbow was hurting still, going to have to monitor that, however James suffered somewhat more than me this week.

1) Bench
W/U to 100x3
W/S 5x3 @ 122.5

2) Pull Ups - Just to stretch my biceps/forearms out again did a quick set of 10

3) Pendlay Rows 5x8 @ 70 (that could have been 3 sets, I'm unsure on that one)

Funny old session this evening, I wasn't feeling on top of the world, my girlfriend is in hospital at the moment, so I have spent large amounts of time there, hence not being able to train at the farm yesterday.

So tonight I had deadlifts planned, and tried some conventional, which I suck at, I worked up to 190x1 - pretty s**t really.

So anyway moved to sumo, and the aforementioned exploits cost me my final rep on the top set but never mind,

Anyway

1) Conventional - work up to 190x1

2) Sumo - 170, 200 x 3, 217.5 x 2

3) Cable Rows 3x8 @ 70

Tough session tonight, this week has really left me drained mentally and physically, hopefully I will perk up for a good squat session tomorrow at the Farm.

I really made sure with the singles tonight that the pauses were very strict, so at the least I'm happy with that.

Also I struggled with the pull ups this evening, hopefully due to tiredness, as otherwise it means I have put on fat, and I don't want to let these slip get strong on the powerlifts and then struggle on pull ups.

Anyway

1) NG Pull Ups - 25

2) Bench
W/U to 60x5
Pause 85, 100, 115 x 3, 3x1 @ 130, 122.5x2
Close Grip - 3x5 @ 112.5

3) Strict Military press 4x8 @ 50

3) Cable Rows 4x15 @ 60

4) Curls 3x10

4) Tricep Pushdowns 3x15

For anyone thinking the assistance ate all my time, and I neglected the bench, that's far from true, I rattle through 3) & 4) in under 20 minutes.

Good session at the farm last night, some good deadlifting on the trap bar, Frank who must have the strongest back in the world pulled 288kg easily (you would be dangerous if you had legs Frank Happy!) and was nice to see James Frost pull 228kg comfortably, could well beat Ian yet.....

Anyway,

1) Squats
W/U to 160x3
W/S 177.5x3, 182.5x3, 177.5x3 - All not to bad, fell forward a bit on a couple, so they probably weren't as deep as I would like, but nether the less they came up.

2) Trap Bar - decided to have another go at closing the gap on Stewart as I have genuine aspirations of taking his 10 lift challenge title this year.

So I worked up to a single at 278, and it was hard! Went, 128, 168, 208, 238, 278 (Told you that big jump might work Frost)

3) Hip Thrusts 5x10 @ 100

Might have to come out of lift of month retirement on Monday, for 1 night and have a go at this hex bar.
frost
Ok i admit i was wrong but i don't think you are going to beat stu on the hex bar this year!
MJW1989
Lmao nor do I, but being 10kg behind is ok, I can make that up on another month, gunning for his crown this year lol.

That was a short retirement lol.
