Thanks Faz. I'm out of excuses now so it's 'now or never'.

Monday

Plenty of high pulls and some Oly work.

Wednesday

Deadlifts

Warmups then...
250kg x 1 (the aim was for three reps but I soon worked out that even the second rep wasn't on)

(Modified) Split Jerks

Warmups then...
120kg x 1
125kg x f
125kg x f
125kg x f

The first two attempts were reasonably close; the third one wasn't.

An 'OK' session but I'm pretty pissed off at the DL especially as I managed 240kg for 5 only a couple of weeks ago.

Of my two main 'goals', I'm now convinced that I'll get 300 lbs 'overhead' before I deadlift 300 kg.

Split Jerks

Plenty of warmups then...
115kg x 1
120kg x 1
125kg x f (three separate attempts)
115kg x 1
120kg x 1
125kg x f (four more attempts)
122.5kg x f

At least five of the seven attempts at 125 were close, hence attempting it so many times.

Squats (not particularly heavy)

Wednesday

Split Jerks

Warmups then...
110kg x 1
115kg x 1
120kg x 1
125kg x f
125kg x f
122.5kg x f
122.5kg x f
122.5kg x f
120kg x 1
121kg x 1
122kg x 1
123kg x f
125kg x f

I'm convinced that I have the strength to nail the lifts/weights that I've been failing. My timing, however, does need quite a bit of work.

Friday 30th

Deadlifts

Warmups then...
230kg x 1 - very easy
252.5kg x 1 - I wanted to make sure that I lifted more than last week so went for this and it was extremely easy.
265kg x f - the previous lift felt so easy that I thought another 12.5 kg would be manageable. I was wrong. I did get it to mid-shin height.
261kg x f - nearly; it would have probably gone if I hadn't used/wasted so much energy on the '265'. 260 is my all-time PB for a 'hitch-free' deadlift, hence the odd number.

Split Jerks

Warmups then...
110kg x 1
115kg x 1
120kg x f
120kg x f
115kg x 1 - long hold at lockout
115kg x 1 - slightly longer hold at lockout

I've probably gone for too many one-rep maxes lately but I'm still going to continue with this style of training for a few more weeks.

Wednesday 4/9

Split Jerks

Warmups then...
Lots of singles with 110kg - concentrating on producing better technique.

Deadlifts

Warmups then...
255 kg x 1 - pretty easy.
260 kg x 1 - very smooth, reasonable speed. There was probably another 5kg there; but not after the 260.

Split Jerks

Warm ups then...
110 kg x 1
110 kg x 1
110 kg x 1
115 kg x 1
120 kg x 1
125 kg x 1 - finally nailing the technique
127.5 kg x 1 - pleased with this one
110 kg x 3

I thought that I'd leave 130 kg for another day.

Squats

Light weights x plenty

I'm pleased with this session. I reckon that I might jerk 140 kg before the end of the year - at least 135 kg. For deadlift, I reckon that I'll pull 272.5 kg before 2014.

Thanks, Millsy! I'm pretty happy with the last six weeks (or so) of training. It's amazing what a bit of consistency can do for you. Grin

Pretty 'average' session today.

Deadlifts

Warmups then...

220 kg x 1
250 kg x 1
250 kg x 1 - terrible technique! I was attempting to pull more efficiently but just made things worse.
250 kg x 1 - even worse technique. I still didn't hitch it though Wink

Power Jerks

Warmups then...
110 kg x 1
115 kg x 1
117.5 kg x 1
118.5 kg x f
117.5 kg x f
115 kg x 1
115 kg x 1

Front Squats

Lights weights x many

A s**tty session really. I expected more of myself (on the 'numbers') but my effort levels were there. If my next session is s**t, I'll move back to some 'rep' work.

13/9

Missed training due to a job interview and couldn't make up for it at the weekend due to work(ing in my current job).

16/9

Just a quick session

Deadlifts

Warmups then...
240 kg x 1
250 kg x 1
250 kg x 1
250 kg x 1
250 kg x 1
250 kg x 1

Split Jerks

warmups then...
110 kg x 1
115 kg x 1
120 kg x 1
125 kg x f
120 kg x 1
120 kg x 1, f2
120 kg x 1
120 kg x 1
120 kg x 1
115 kg x 1 - extended time at lockout

Behind Neck Jerks (2nd time ever)

70 kg x 1
75 kg x 1
80 kg x 1
85 kg x 1
90 kg x 1
95 kg x 1
100 kg x 1
100 kg x 1

I was just familiarising myself with the movement pattern. I lifted even less than this when I tried them about a month ago.

Pendlay rows

110 kg x 3
115 kg x 3
120 kg x 3
125 kg x 3
130 kg x 3 (the final rep of this set was the first row that wasn't perfectly strict)

Double Overhand Deadlift (without hook gripping)

130 kg x 1
180 kg x 1
210 kg x 1 - fairly comfy, I might try 220 next time

I think that 250 kg is a good medium-term target for these.
