I've only started strongman training the past 2 months.

Stones: loaded 110kg stone on low platform
Log: 85kg
18" Deadlift: 205kg
Yoke: ran with 240kg, stood up with 340kg but no movement lol.
Farmers: ran with 90's stood for 5 seconds with 110's (poor grip :[!)

Been doing olly lifting for past year and a bit.

Clean and jerk: 110kg
Snatch: 85kg

Before this all i did in the gym was the usual teenage thing bench and biceps.
My gym lifts are however coming up.

Bench: 100kg
Squat: 160kg
Front squat: 120kg
Deadlift: 170kg Unhappy
Push press (Double dip): 100kg
Jerk: 115kg

I'm just after some help in getting my bench squat and deadlifts up and whats the best routines to do so?

Any help would be much appreciated.

i wouldnt worry too much about your bench atm, use it as an accesary lift (overhead being more improtant for strongman and your weightlifting.)

i think most people tend to use a squat, push, pull routine mate. just keep it simple, like not putting too much accesary work in and over doing it.
there are a million and one different specific routines out there, you just have to try different ones and see what works for you.

did some random stuff after the comp on saturday.

new PB power clean and push press (90kg)

Did a killer squat session

(100kg)
Reps, 2,3,4,5,6,5,4,3
With 30 seconds rest between each.
Although it burnt after i think maybe i should have used 110kg or 120kg.

Finished off with some weighted crunches with 3sets of 10 reps.
And then some well needed cardio to finish off with.

decent session today after fairly hard session monday.

Power Snatch: 60kg 3 sets of 2 reps
Clean pulls: 120kg 6 sets of 3 reps
Front squat: 90kg reps 2,3,4,5,6,5,4,3 with 30seconds rest betweeen each.
(highly recommend the squat routine, really f**ks up your legs)

Came back down that night (as i obviously have no social life lol)

Deadlift: 170kg, equal PB and without straps which is great achievement for me.
Bench: 100kg equal PB (very easy), tried 105 but had help at the top just before the full extension.
Bench (3 board press): 115kg for 4 reps failed the 5th.
Bent over rows: 60kg, 3 sets of 10 reps.

Feeling f**ked now!

Again a decent session but old knee injury keeps playing up until it's warmed right up. so warming up goes on for ages lol.

Power snatch: A new PB of 75kg, went easy so tried 80kg but failed.
Clean & jerk: worked up to 100kg for 2 reps, 105, but failed the jerk on 108kg
back squat: stayed light with 5 sets of 3 on 100kg.
Incline bench: 70kg 5 sets of 5
Shoulder press, frontal raises, shrugs, dumbell press.

Weekend to recover and then back to following the weightlifting routine.

felt strong but bloated after eating too much before training. (bad move)

Clean & jerk: worked up to 105 but once again failed 108kg. (Everything felt really heavy off the floor but somehow clean every weight attempted)

Obvious lack of strength in the jerk showed through being able to clean 112kg but not jerking it after in comp.

Jerk from stands: worked up to a surprisingly easy 110kg.
front squats: 100kg 3 sets of 3 reps.

Went in the gym and did some shoulders to finish off with.
1 hand dumbell press: 100pound each arm(very easy but thought i'd finish on a good note)
Seated shoulder press (machine): worked up to average weight for 10, then up 2 plates dropping 2 reps until i got to 2 rep sets, then increased till failure.

Quite a good session, shoulders feel battered!
Mint!

Forgot weightlifting boots so good chance to do deadlifts and upper body.

Deadlifts: 140kg for 3 reps, then dropped back to 110kg for to develop the right tekkers lol.

Bent over rows: 60kg, 10 reps, 3 sets.
Shoulder press behind neck: 60kg for 3
Machine shoulder press: 10 reps, 3 sets with half stack.
Lateral raises: Stayed light because of recurring injury in rotor cuff.
Finished with Incline bench: 80kg for 3 reps, 5 reps every 5kg increase before.

Clean & jerk: 60kg, 80kg, 90kg, 95kg, 100kg, 104kg, 106kg, 108kg Failed

Front Squat: 60, 80, 100, 110, 115, 120 Failed, 120 Failed, 122 PB (f**k nows how)
Back Squat: 125, 130, 135 Failed (Never do both but coach wanted a comp on back squats lol)

18" Deadlift: 70kg for 5, 110 for 3, 130 for 3, 150 for 2, 170 for 1, 190 for 1

That's a power jerk, not a push press. Sorry to be pedantic!
