a large fingered spastic that demolishes plant Member 89, 31706 posts SQ 260, BP 220, DL 290770.0 kgs @ 142kgs UnEq | i think of good mornings now as a glute exercise first and a lower back/ core/ spinal errector exercise 2nd. as i have noticed a couple of things whilst training and in relation with my back. 1) if i use the movement as a Hinge of the hips rather than a hinge of the lower back (pushing my hips and glutes back) and getting my core tight i can activate the glutes very well now. 2) by doing the above i have reduced the stress on my lower back by a goo bit. 3) also placing that in my squat position has also had a benefit of cueing my tech for staying tight in squats. i use a Broom stick when doing GM's are a aid to warming up and activating the right muscles. should probably start to use it in my training again. one last thing is i don't use the range of motion (yet) thats is shown in the vid. instead trying to use the ROM for my squats for the upper body idf you know what i mean?

Member 5226, 180 posts SQ 310, BP 205, DL 345860.0 kgs @ 167kgs UnEq | I'm a big fan of good mornings. Tried a few varieties, like some more than others. Never got much carryover whilst doing seated good mornings, but I really rate them with a safety squat bar or my favourite is to do them slightly paused onto pins in a cage.
