Wayne and I share a similar love for the Front Squat, although he loves it more than I.

Well done on your lift, and PB. Just watch out for the chafe, which is a curse to us front squatters.

Well, you teased us didn't you!!!! You started off with a "proper" clean grip and then bloody well changed before you did the rep!

Anyway, nice work and well done.

Well done. A front squat PB is worthy of the same level of celebration as Lone Wolf receiving his first new £5 note.

Cheers fella, I accept my chafing fate. The front squat chose me.

Thanks mate, it's my new method of subtly trolling people Wink

Jokes aside, I like to start with the clean grip to make sure it's centered, the BB style is easier to keep my elbows up.

Thank you Wayne, I hope to one day get a front squat equivalent to the receipt of a new £10 note.

You're better off switching to clean grip tbh, it'll be beneficial once you get used to it, well done on the PB though

I cant understand why anyone who was flexible enough to hold a clean grip wouldnt use it. After just a few sessions it becomes so much more comfortable than the alternatives, and it would help eliminate that unpleasant upper back rounding at the bottom of the rep.

Thanks for the kind words and the input mate, what qualifies it as better exactly? Is it to do with carryover to cleans/ push pressing and the like?

Fair comment, I used to do them clean grip exclusively but found cross grip comfier and easier to keep my elbows up.

Once you have mobility to be comfortable then it is easier for you to keep your elbows high with a clean grip. If you're mobility is only just good enough to hold the bar then that may be why cross arms feel easier
