I can convert miniDV, VHS-c or Hi8 without the camcorder but if its another format ill need to borrow the cam too.

you can post the tape, come down to adders or i dont mind popping to yours one day/night/middle of the night.

Good write ups from Joni and Millsy. Solid performance from both of you, and also 'the machine' - where does he get the strength from? The guy's not human that's for sure Happy

What a day! Absolutely loved it - great to meet Millsy and the machine too.

Here is what I wrote on my training log on veganfitness:

My last training session was Tuesday before the competition. The competition went very well for me (see the results thread in power and strength) so I'll write about it in hear from my point of view.

Event one - log lift:

Floor to overhead for each rep with an 80kg IFSA spec log.

My aim for the day was 5-6 reps with this. Then Joni got 6 so I had to beat that. Thankfully I did with 7 reps, which was hard, but not max effort. If given a 90sec time limit (as opposed to 75) I would have nailed 8.

I placed joint 6th in this event, which was my worst event, but ironically one of my best with it being a 2 rep pb!

Event two - yoke and drag:

Yoke walk 15m with 220kg, drag a 300kg chain 15m.

Slightly unfamiliar yoke with offputting cross bar across the front (felt like I was going to walk into it). Slowish start on yoke but made up good speed to the finish line. A solid chain drag.

I placed 2nd in this event.

Event three - farmers walk:

100kg farmers, turns at every 15m.

The implements were completely unfamiliar (large cumbersome girder types with a very high pickup) and I haven't been putting the farmers walk training in as I should have. I hoped to make 60m with this, but I only got 48m.

I got fourth place in this event.

Event four - medley:

This consisted of carrying a 65kg beer keg 15m, loading it to a platform, followed by 15m duck walk with 100kg, run 15m and then flip a 300kg tyre 5 times and sprint to the line.

This event was fine for me though I didn't feel like I was going at max speed except for on the tyre. Fatigue is a b**ch!

I placed third in this event (only by 0.05sec! ).

Event five - stones:

Loading 5 stones (80, 90, 100, 110, 120) onto 4.5ft barrels. A few metres separated the barrels.

I had doubts about this event. I would describe myself as an OK stone lifter but my technique is pretty slow. I had to place well in this to keep in the top three and thankfully I did, being one of only 4 to load all five stones. I did it in 32.1 seconds which for me is a fantastic time!

So in the end I scored 75 of a possible 90 points, meaning that I averaged 4th place in every event. There was only one point separating the top three places and unfortunately for me I had the lowest of those. Still, I would never have dreamed of making third spot, and I am over the moon!

Here are the videos of the events for me:

Log pressing:

My yoke and drag:

The farmers walks:

My medley:
