You're really not the guy that should be talking about rules of powerlifting federations, is your Texas deadlift bar definitely the Capps one? I think their are quite afew copies.

Its a buddy capps DL bar. The same as used in wpc comps !
And as for rules thats a tiresome subject isnt it ?
I was just wondering when you will be seen at a comp to prove your lgfts and total you have posted on your avatar ?

If you are going to compete in a powerlifting federation where they use the stiff power bars like Eleiko PL or Leoko you should probably do most of your competition style deadlifts on a bar like that. Its quite a different feel to those bars loaded with iron 25s than a WL bar loaded with bumpers.

I agree, fed I have competed in use a specific deadlift bar so by training with a stiffer bar it normally allows some carryover on the day, I do think its possible to pull 10-15kg more on a whippy bar than say an eleiko one.

My best deadlift on my 7.5 ft deadlift bar that I have used for five years in training = 330kg,

Best deadlift in comp on a 7ft eleiko pl bar = 330kg....

Amazing! Maybe I should get my money back...

if the average carryover is 10% and you're getting 0% does that mean someone else is getting 20% ???

Were your squat and bench PBs done in comps or training?

So the feds that use deadlift bars just do it for fun or too allow lifters to lift more? Happy

Sure, not everyone will but the intent is there.

I am happy that feds use deadlift bars..long as they use it for the squat and bench too.

How did we get here again?

Are yes. The TPB u have used have been a bit stiffer than the oly bars I have used. However not used a top class WL like the one mentioned above. If I was going to compete with a powerlifting bar id deadlift with the stiffest, decent bar I could use.

For the most part, this thread has provided the answers that I was hoping for when I asked the original question. Lifters have compared their experiences of different bars. Happy
