What do you guys do for conditioning work?

Before i went on holiday i started doing 30mins on the bike most days but i dont want to do too much cardio and hinder my weight gain.

Was thinking of doing a couple of circuit training classes each week but wanted to see what everyone reccomends.

Medleys on events days and I also do 1:30min sprints on the rower on max setting for max distance after each gym session.

I started doing 500m rowing on max after each session a while back that took me around 1:30s.

Think ill start doing them again, some high rep stuff and then finish each event session with some sort of medley.

do a bit at work in locker room dumbell snatches with 22kg dumbell alternating hands until no puff left. stair sprints we have 8 back to back. either do 3 ups and 2 downs as fast as possible or see how many i can do in 10 mins record is 16. sometimes. go on rower like u do but can only manage 60 secs at max output

Kettlebells are ace. I'm reall yinto these at the minute following in the footsteps of Jonny Wildboar.

You get fantastic conditioning without the dishonour of running or aerobics.

Get a 24kgs kettlebell - do 3 minutes of swings, alternating arms and then rest until you can go again.

Use the same KB to do turkish get ups, 5 each arm.

There's 100s more exercises but swings and get ups pretty much cover everything.

You'll be f**ked.

Bugger. I nearly bought a kettlebell in Florida because they were dirt cheap but didnt in the end because i questioned when i would use it.

Looks like ill be searching for one now.

I could recommend some stuff, but I think this thread would be better off with Jonny Wignall's input...

Dai hits the nail on the head again !

Yea, I think some kettlebell stuff can do wonders for conditioning - its very basic but lung busting and kinda fun.

at the moment im doing high rep stuff that isnt FULL intensity but enough to have a sweat on

but get ups rule as do swings/snatches in most forms..

4 sets of 30 2 handed 32kg swings with a woody band to add some 'ping' to the downward swing is enough to tame the most conditioned man beast

I also used to really enjoy hill sprints and found lunges with a sandbag overhead to be 'boffin'
