good luck on the rehab mate, took me a while to get back after i dislocated my knee torn mcl, damaged miniscus, and damaged bursar. i only got in to powerlifting after my surgeon told me squatting would help to stabalise my knee.

I was unaware of this. Good luck with the recovery. If I'd known you were bored I could have kept you busy with admin duties! Quarter squats? Inspired by Andy Bolton? Tongue

LOL

No, the physio called them half squats and demonstrated how deep she meant, I think 1/4 is a fair description

Good to see things are going well though, i was lucky the doc looking after me dealt with pro footballers, and had the ethos get working, stabalise by building muscle and strength.

Good luck Carl. An aggressive rehab programme will see you right much faster than medicine thinks. My 2 bits of advice:

1) Be proactive in rehab, keep thinking what can i be doing not what can't i do.
2) Celebrate the little victories.

Hope that rehab plan helps you.

All the best for the rehab mate.

A kid I coach was selected at hooker for England Under 18 in a few weeks but tore his ACL last week in training. Poor kid. I will keep an eye on the rehab programme he is put on as he has access to some top level physios. Any tips I pick up I'll let you know.

Can't believe it's taken 4 years to get the op and get it sorted! Hope everything works out for you.

Basically it wasn't diagnosed at the time as a torn acl, all te focus was in my shin, as I was led up for the skin graft on the shin, the knee calmed down, but numerous physios and doctors didn't find anything wrong with it, until I saw the surgeon after being referred, as soon as it was suspected by the surgeon it was about 6 weeks until I had my op.

Frustrating it wasn't diagnosed at the time
