well done mate, as your into a bit of strongman, i guess the form comes second to getting the weight up, either way 240 is a tremendous deadlift mate, hows that squat coming along ?

Well done mate, and no offence intended at all (because I know you're training for strongman) but personally I wouldn't count a lift like that as a proper PB.

Thanks guys!

Rob - for me a deadlift is about getting the weight from A to B. I shouldn't have dipped my knees under (hard to stop yourself doing that sometimes!) but as far as I can see it wasn't hitched Grin

aye, the double knee bend would get red lights, but not in strongman Grin

Good battle man!

Need to prioritise pulling pronto! Cant have Jono making too much of a gap Angry

Exactly Joni - 12.5kg is a fair chunk!

Bear in mind that there are two deadlift tyre events in Fraserburgh (farmers walks but with multiple pickups, and the van hold) so I think you need prioritise deads just for that reason. I'll still beat you to 250kg though! Tongue

i think i am ok with the farmers pickups, the 120kg pickup is not too bad (though 130kg pickups are brutal!).

That van deadlift, who the f**k even knows how much it weighs?!?!? Grin Anyhow, lockout strength is my game, equalled Olly on rack pulls doing 5x250 and i take equalling olly in pulling events as a compliment!

...now if i could just pull that bas***d off the floor...

Given your physiology, pulling off the floor should be your strength. You have the big legs that you need to explode off the floor - put them to good use man!

I have noticed platform deads from time to time in your log - have you any plans to do them again?

plan is to hit deadlifts hard for next two months, and pull from every f**king height there is!

Watch this space man - Operation Big Pull is about to commence!

Joni - I'm always a little surprised, given your squat stance, that you pull conventional. Have you considered sumo?

Well, yeah, "cheating" is one way to put it Happy.

I feel the same way about it as I do about ultra-wide squats like Vogelpohl's recent one - it's very impressive in its way, but it's *not a squat*.

Didn't know they weren't allowed in strongman. Good.
