Bit of chest today, Im training chest and light triceps on the same day. Heavy triceps with shoulders

Flat bench

160kg x 8 (wore wrist wraps - strength shop ones)
I could have pushed another but the bench only has a top bracket so if i had failed i would have had to roll it down my fat body. lll ask a local for a spot next week and try for 10 before upping the weight

incline hammer press
20kg for 10
40kg for 10
60kg for 10
80kg for 4
100kg for 4
100kg for 4
all slow and squeezed, i have no point of reference for these in terms of weight so i may aswell enjoy them

angled bar tricep cable extensions
worked up to 12 plates on the selector then once i hit failure i dropped the weight by 2 plates for failure right the way down the stack. decent pump

tonight:

brief back session to find out where I am

Deadlifts
very light
to 220kg for 3 singles

underhand bent over rows
I went up to 210kg for these for 2 sets of 5 reps. form is awful but I want to overload the back to force it to get used to weight
dropped weight to 180kg for 2 sets of 6 (decent form)

partial deads (no straps) above the knee to 350kg (mostly for grip and shoulder girdle to again get them used to some weight.

chins (using gymnastic rings)
3 sets of bodyweight for 5 reps

hammer strength pull downs
60kg a side for 3 sets of 10 - controlled


Ive started back doing a bit of boxing training, I used to box every day and my fitness was really good (the first rung of the boxing ladder but for me it helped tremendously), my rest between sets was literally the time it took to put another plate on and my recovery was excellent. Im also training BJJ when I can more because I enjoy it than any other reason.

so mission is to train weights 4-5 times a wee, box 3 and BJJ 5. reduce weight to 105kg and get strength back to a decent level. If it does then I may do a GBPF or GPC (because they look more fun).

this year has not been great training wise, ripped my quad at the start of 2015 front squatting so tentatively getting started again.

I was also weighing a consistent 105-108kg for about 2 years, thinking this was a combination of good diet and hard training I was getting cocky until I took 150mg of voltarol one day and essentially vomited blood all over the inside of my car while i rushed myself to hospital. I found out I have completely destroyed my stomach lining taking voltarol, anyway I should have realised as I was knocking back gaviscon constantly.

after a bit of surgery its all sorted (although I cant take ibuprofen, aspirin, voltarol etc or I may bleed out so be careful kids!), I can now digest food, resulting in a 20kg increase in bodyweight.

so basically, Im fat, weak and aging.... I have also stopped training at virgin active and lost the ability to use sunbeds every 2nd day so I'm pale, like a potato.

currently weighing around 120kg (and not a good 120kg), about 80% where I should be strength wise and need to do something about it.

the road is a long one, training has been inconsistent at best but now back with a little bit of time to play around with so going to start another journal and see where it takes me.

its about £70 to shoot a hind, £30 to go out stalking if you dont shoot anything. if you want the carcass they will generally charge around £30 to take away and butcher, thats what it costs me in the borders anyway. most of the shooting for deer down there is done on a chair so you are not actually stalking but you still get the experience.

there are a few places in Ayr will do a stag for around £150 for the day.

I dont fish but I shoot a fair bit, Drew if you ever want pheasant or guinea fowl let me know, ill bring them into the gym (until the end of january at least when the season ends)
