| had the owners husband etc died (with his name on the deeds) and not transferred it properly when the estate was divided up? there are a few things you can do, he who has the deeds owns the house in general especially if not on land registry. get a solicitor to deal with the purchase and let them take the hit. as long as the property can be mortgaged you'll be ok on the lending front (not fair hurst building etc), they'll need to see deeds though or have the solicitors insurance guarantee the loan. | |||
