The amazing thing is how well you break parallel, not to mention HOLY CRAP long legs. You good sir, win life. You remind me of a viking warrior, only instead of pillaging villages, you rape the weights.

Best comment so far imo!

Haha cheers Luke. My favourite is the one where someone says because he saw a 15kg plate in there that it shouldn't count??? Confused

Thanks JC, was impressed with how you kept hold of that 16" while all the plates were flying off everywhere. I'll remember that technique next time it starts to feel hard!

good

I've directed all the lads I train with to your journal. Many of them will have been loading/spotting/lifting on Saturday.

Hopefully they'll stop lurking and sign up soon!

Quick one tonight

Pull ups, wide over hand

5 bw
5 bw + 20kg
3 bw + 40kg
2 bw + 60kg
1.5 bw + 80kg - couldn't quite finish the 2nd one. Is this a pb? I'll have to check the chart to find out.

Safety Squat Bar Squats belt only - well these are nastier than I remember

Bar x 5 - ok so far, feels normal
70kg x 5 - weirdly difficult
150kg x 3 - should kill myself for this feeling hard
170kg x 2
180kg x 1
190kg x 1 - there was at the most 200 - 210kg there. Strange, so much harder than a normal bar. I think they're a keeper though!

Really good session today

Squat

Bar x 3 sets of 5

Suit on straps down

60kg x 5
100kg x 5
140kg x 3
180kg x 1
230kg x 1

Straps up, wraps on

280kg x 1 - planned opener, nice
300kg x 1 - deeper than Wednesday, smoother than Wednesday, feeling good about this now

Bench raw

Bar x 5
60kg x 5
100kg x 5
140kg x 1
130kg x 4

About as good as it's ever been

13" deadlift

70kg x 1
120kg x 1
170kg x 1
220kg x 1
300kg x 1
345kg x 3 - 3 rep pb

Awesome day, deadlift has lost no momentum and Squats are coming back.

Amazing work Tom,

I can't believe how you recover from these sessions so quickly - Wait until your past 30 and still trying to do the same work Grin

Thanks! Give it a go, I've been told it's similar to a front squat the way it forces you into position.
