Sandvik takes title over Svensson in confusion

29th May 2010 - Posted by Rob Kenneth Sandvik has just been declared the winner of the IPF World Bench Press Championships amid controversial scenes.

Fredrik Svensson [pictured celebrating] posted a 332.5kg press with the final lift of the day, receiving three whites from the referees despite many spectators observing downwards movement.

The press was referred to the jury who decided to rescind the lift 5 minutes later - pushing Kenneth Sandvik's 330kg lift into first place.
