» Partial bicep tear (Go to post)15-05-2016 @ 17:22
I tore mine in 2012 and had it operated on the week later. I was in a sling for 3 week and then a something else for another 4 weeks which let me bend my arm slightly so I could get some movement. I started training 12 weeks after the operation. My strength came back pretty quickly but my advice would be to take it slowly when you come back and focus on condition. I had pain in my forearm and bicep when i first started training and it effected my bench lockout and grip.. After 4 years I'd say it's just under 100 percent of what it was on direct bicep movements and 100 percent with everything else.. you're doing the right thing getting the operation. Just take it easy when you get back into training

If you're citing him having done one contest in two years surely the same is true for Lalas?
Rather than thinking either one is a shoe in for a top 5 I see both guys as a bit of an unknown, although they both do easily have the potential to do well if on top form.

Lalas was third at the Arnold beating thor, ed etc..

4th place at Brits is average? The 3 men who beat him are all multiple WSM finalists!

5th place. He was 7 points behind bish, who's looking good at the moment but was nowhere near the final last year.

Anyone saying Terry will struggle to get out of the group stage is clueless. FACT.

In 9 years Terry made it to 9 finals. Couple that with the fact that the big man has said he will be the highest placed Brit at this years WSM and its hard to see Terry as anything other than a top 5 finisher.

Without a definitive list of events its hard to pick a winner, but i expect Shaw to take another crown, with Thor pushing him all the way. Then Z, Terry and Lalas to round out the top 5 (last one may be wishful thinking, i love that little ape though!)

Clueless? He was average at best at brits and has had one contest in 2 years. It'll be hard to get right back up to the top. A top ten finish with the guys who are around at moment would be a good result. With no injuries the best 5 at the moment are z, Shaw, thor, lalas, ed. I can't really see anyone breaking into that top 5.

Yeah I think he'll do well to make it out of the group. The standard is getting tougher every year.

Shaw and thor both beat Terry in the truck pull in the 2014 final so I can't see him winning that event either.

Terry a better presser than Shaw? I don't think so.. Terrys best in a contest is 180.. where as Shaw 205 for 2?

The top 3 will be z, Shaw and thor again. Not sure in what order though. I really can't see Terry breaking the top 5. He's injury prone and will probably be near last in the pressing.

Z has obviously got back issues. I mean he's 50kg down on the deadlift.. you don't just lose strength in one lift and keep everything else for no reason..

The deadlift has finished.. All I can see is Le roux got 410

FAT_SAM said:Loz only did 370 in a full PL meet. Going from straps to mixed grip twists the pelvis off the floor. You lose a lot. It's not a grip issue.

Shaw would bench 240.. squat 380 and deadlift 440 raw in a full meet, I have no doubt about that..

FAT_SAM said:I would beat Shaw on wilks in a powerlifting competition! Guarantee it. No chance in hell could i beat Z, Hall, Radz, Lalas. You must see what I mean now?

But you wouldn't actually beat him total wise. In fact you'd be nowhere near.

Zs deadlift is way down.. probably 45 to 55 kilo down on his best.. old age taking its toll

So z opened up at 450? Or you mean 386 kg?
» 2016 Arnold Strongman Competitors? (Go to post)11-02-2016 @ 23:25
If the squat was in wraps I think radz would total 450, 300, 400 raw..
