DeanW92 | side of pec strain, ideas? | 10-08-2014 @ 22:21
Member 4496, 1446 posts SQ 240, BP 200, DL 300740.0 kgs @ 112kgs UnEq | Whilst benching the other day i felt some pain in the side of my chest and into my armpit, finished the training session there but must have strained something slightly. Can feel it if i try do pushups and when stretching my arm overhead or to the side but its not a severe amount of pain. Any ideas on what this could be and some stretches etc that i could do?

Generally there is no pain unless i try do like benching or pushups and also hanging from a pullup bar stretches it and i can feel it pulling. Im guessing its jst something minor, but wonder if other areas could be the cause e.g. tight shoulders or bicep etc.

I thought I had a pec problem as benching made it worse as soon as I started. Having said that, any movement like that would have done the same, but I don't walk around performing that movement.

Been benching twice a week for 3 months or so without any respite. I had been benching once a week and then bumped it up to twice a week, then for two weeks i did 3 times a week and all sessions where heavy the week i hurt it. Seems to be easing off now. Need to do some shoulder mobility as it feels tight on the injured side.
