For anyone that might want to know the details, I have been told that Alan's funeral will be on Thursday 28 March at 3:30pm at St Paul's Church Adlington, and afterwards at the White Bear Pub Adlington.

Thursday is a non training day at Adlington. He helps us still. A gentleman to his fingertips.

I cant say i knew Alan very well, i met the man twice or thrice and i'll never forget about him. It was to me as if this man would never die, he was intense and full of energy, fantastic lifter yet quite humble. He made me feel more than welcome to his gym, i'm not from around, i'm not even an english man. He knew then i probably wouldnt come back again, yet he dedicated some interest and energy to me. He did make me a better lifter, taught me things. I came back.

I like to think we were friends. I wont be able to come to his funeral but if i could i would.

For professional reasons i had to train less and dropped out eventually. The day i learnt he's gone i went back training, thinking of him. Alan gave me an experience, i will never forget about him.

Rest in peace my friend.

Alan's funeral yesterday, a difficult day as I said a final goodbye to a man I had grown very close to over the last 8 years, a man who was inspirational, and tremendously caring. Losing him has left a big gap in my life, he was my coach but more than that he was one of my very best friends.

I was honoured to carry him from the church and again to his final resting place. Alan's son John was very kind and allowed me to place my medal from the Brtish Masters last week with his coffin at the crematorium, so he will forever have one last British Title with him, I owed him at least that.

I miss you Al !!

This vid is from a couple of years ago, this is how I'll remember my mate Alan Faiclough

I know that video by heart, I was there when it was taken. That is how we will all remember him

Glad he got a good send off. I think its great that there are some videos of him showing how great he was to have him coaching.

Video is working now.

I remember him telling me "you squatted that like a sack of s**t tied in the middle" Thing was, that told me everything I needed to know and the next one was a peach.
