Hey,

I've seen similar questions posted before but with no decent answer that suits me. I'm a weightlifter who needs a gym for my summer back at home in Leeds. The Crossfit gym doesn't suit me, the weightlifting club at Met would obviously be ideal but after a bit of contact with them it doesn't look likely that I'll be able to train there. Travelling to Wakey or Hebden Bridge is also out of the question.

So does anyone know of a gym with at least a spinning bar and a couple of bumper plates in Leeds?

I've heard of Ralls/Bodies, but can't find it on a map and I know it's powerlifting based, but does anyone know if oly lifting would be feasible there?

Any other suggestions would be great. Many thanks!

Tim

Where abouts in Leeds are you? Alterds is okay but only has 2 x 20kg bumpers if you can get to Bradford and train with the wieghtlifting club there's 3 platforms about 6 decent bars and 2 Texas bars and about 250k in bumpers and the loads of metal plates

Thanks for the replies. Both sound great, although not sure that the bumpers in Pudsey will be enough - clean and jerking around 110kg at the moment. I'm over in Roundhay, so not that close to either but both are definite options!

Any ideas on the prices of each? Also, do you know if the Bradford club takes on all comers?

Cheers.

There are more than 2 20kg bumper plates at altered. There are loads of them. Its one of the few good things about the gym Grin

There isn't there's metal plates that are rubber coated are they what you mean? Because we had to bring our own solid bumpers when we trained there and Bradford 10 pound a month and you gotta be a 10 Pound

dont think it would effect us too much but when oly guys drop them from over head they dont take the same ammount of stick as full rubber

Yeah, I don't think they would like me dropping metal plates from overhead.

Bradford prices sound awesome! Definitely going to check them out. Getting there might be annoying but it sounds ideal otherwise. Thanks!

No train station near me, I do drive but I probably won't be insured. I'll figure something out, probably bus tbh. Should be fine, cheers.
