No, definately not Steve Brooks. Wish I had his shoulders though !!!!
To answer JT first I'm 6feet tall and currently just 300lbs.
The comp is being hosted by Elite Strongman Promotions the same crew that put on the two Barnard Castle Shows and I believe also did the comp at The Body Power Expo in May.
They are an excellent crew who always put on a good show.
The comp is Sunday 13th Sept in a place called Billingham.
Hope this helps

The best way to contact the organisers is through the UK strongman board and then send a pm to either Bob (I think his screen name is elitedaglish) or to BigT. Either of them will tell you how to enter.
The events list I have been given is:
Overhead Press Medley
Axle Deadlift
Flip & Carry
Cross Work
Loading
Am looking forward to this one as I had to pull out of my last comp, which was my first comp !!! due to a back injury.
I'm assuming cross work is the same as or similar to the crucifix hold. Anyone know for sure ???

Na mate, cross work will be a walk with a steel crucifix I would imagine. Much the same as a shield carry

It is a 210kg (approx) cross which has to be picked up and carried as far as possible, which generally is not that far! It should be called Cross Walk not work which was a typo. It is brutal.Bob hasn't decided on the weights for all the events, and the events listed may change. I will post them up when I get them.

The only tip I can give is respect it but don't be afraid of it. Also some advice I was given by Dave Mac is don't use a stiff belt, just a neoprene as it will imbed the stiff one and its buckle in your midsection! Some of the best in the country have done under 30m with it, so it is a serious lump of metal. I am not looking forward to it either!
