On my way out from the comp I saw the spotter that got hit. He had a hell of a bruise but was smiling and laughing, I think it was a bit of a badge of honour type thing.

Having seen you lift twice this year you have really impressed me both times Martin, you look strong and your form is solid. I was really suprised when you missed your 3rd bench because your first two looked pretty easy. Keep it up for the worlds!

I have posted my two successful benches and my three deadlifts in my journal.
Here is my 205kg deadlift:

And here is my brother's 200kg deadlift:

Nice lifting Luke Happy

Martin - Great lifting bro, very consistant
Luke - you too mate well done.

Jenkins - Your still a taff hairdreser that needs a man slap from my pimp hand before you lift, 'll be there when you go for your 400kg squat to make sure you don't feel the pain of the squat, just the sting of my pimp hand.

Good lifting guys. And Martin, it looked like there was a bit more left in your squat and deadlift, 1000kgs has got to be a very strong possibility for the worlds.

Cheers Chris, cheers Matt. Always nice to get compliments from other lifters. Happy

As for competing with my bro it has its pluses and its negatives.
The negatives are that it means we cant help each other out on the day. At the Welsh last year I helped my brother and he repaid the favour at the BWLA NW in December. The last two comps however we have been competing at the same time so we cant help each other much although he is a good guide for timing when to warm-up, how many warm-up sets to do and numbers to pick once on the platform so his help is still really invaluable on the day.

It does have a lot of positives, it is a real motivation going against my brother and beating him on two out of three lifts felt good. Happy If I get in a bench shirt and he sorts out his injury problems meaning his deadlift can progress properly we could be on for a right battle. The announcers loved it on comp day, Dave Mannering even said "They are wearing different colour socks so you can tell them apart". Great stuff.

As for nicking kick I'm guilty as charged lol. My squat suit used to belong to my brother though he didn't wear it much before switching to a different suit. I might be using a pair of his squat briefs from now on as well.
