Nice one dude - didn't look super-duper high either!

What's your best contest squat?

cheers, no it wasn't super high but need to sink it still. I bombed out in my last contest so I don't have a big squat in comps, in the lead up to it though i squated 310 to depth (had someone call me in) out a monolift and 2ply squat suit.

I still think fat boy you would be better served bringing your stance in a bit and getting stronger outside of the kit, double ply at 17 is just unnesesary in my opinion.

hmmm...that is my close stance lol i have been going raw alot more often than i used to, its just fun having alot of weight on your back. ive been doing alot of close stance front squats but i hate going close on back squats, its something im going to have to practice...all in good time though.

Yeah you have ages, just don't get obsessed with numbers and focus on getting stronger instead, singles in kit don't make you strong they test strength and control of the kit. I talk of narrowing your stance primarily as you don't hit depth wide, and I remember the fateful day when I was calling you down with 260 and your knee buckled as basically it isn;t used ot having that weight down there.

yea thats true, i do get caught up with numbers instead of just getting s**t done. i think i have to take my stance in alittle as it is super wide (feet touching each end of the mono) but most of my problems of hitting depth is from lack of flexibilty in the hips which ive been stretching out alot lately. lol that fateful day s**t me up pretty bad, maybe thats why im still not hitting the squat as fast as i should and sort of "feeling" my way into the squat.

its all a learning curve.

I think you just said it...lack of flexibility in hips would indicate that you should bring your stance in - especially in kit, because you will just be fighting the suit which will likey throw you off line.

I did exactly the same thing mate! I also dropped 260 if you remember...damn it will you stop copying me lol!!

everyone seems to be telling me to take the stance in so i best listen, i think ill find it evan harder to hit depth with a closer stand but theres only one way to find out.

yea i remember that, its not fun at all lol and i wish i could copy your 325 squat!!

70 x 12 clean and press in 70 secs (thats what i have to do in the schoolboy comp but for 90secs)
