For what it is worth I've found that I'm s**t at repping out without working up to a top single first.

Last week I barely got 57.5kg x4 in the military press, and today I worked up to a top single with 67.5kg and then dropped to 60kg and almost got 6 reps.

If you are doing the 5/3/1 format, try and see how you do with your top 5/3/1 top set after working up to a top single (that is still smooth and not a grinder). Maybe you find that 5/3/1 topset going a bit better then.

I've only done this for the Bench and OH so far and will try it with my squats tomorrow. DL's seem to do ok as it is so I won't try the top single there.

Any one managed to work 531 in with strongman? I`m thinking of doing it over the winter after the dragons comp.
