Box Squats Green Bands (Boxes at 15")

The green bands give me an added resistance of 37kg at the bottom and 70kg at the top (Remember this is height and depth dependant) Weights given are shown as Weight at Top:Weight at bottom. Rest periods 30 seconds. Speed once again the emphasis.

Box Deadlifts (8" Boxes) (120-180 secs rest)......SPEED! Oh, these where done with straps as I have an inflammed septum on my finger (Trust me its painful!)

3 sets of 15.

Today was event training and worked on the Overhead Medley and then onto farmers walk.

The Medley was worked in trebles working once again on speed and the technical aspect. My overhead timing still isnt great but getting there.

Set up a fat bar with some scaffold as a temp but pick up my fatgripz in the US in a few days. Used them last time I was out there and was pretty impressed.

Medley'
Circuit 1
2 Sets
3 Reps each lift.

Fat Bar C+P 50kg
Barbell C+P 60kg
Log C+P 53kg
Dumbell Push Press 24kg

Circuit 2
1 Set
3 Reps each lift.


Fat Bar C+P 55kg
Barbell C+P 65kg
Log C+P 58kg
Dumbell Push Press 28kg


Circuit 3
1 Set
3 Reps each lift.

Fat Bar C+P 65kg
Barbell C+P 75kg
Log C+P 68kg
Dumbell Push Press 32kg

Circuit 4
2 Sets
3 Reps each lift.

Fat Bar C+P 70kg
Barbell C+P 80kg
Log C+P 73kg
Dumbell Push Press 34kg


Finished with 3x Farmers walks. Estimated distance is 20m with 92kg each hand.

Todays Training

Deadlift Speed work.
Done off a 3" Box to assist with speed off the floor. All 30 seconds Rest.
I am reverting to straps with any lifts at present to make sure the inflammation on my finger goes down (Advise of Physio)

Leg Press (Done to the base of the press.....FULL range) Speed emphasis.

Weighted Isometrics on the Abs.

These are basically Prone and Supine Planks with Weights added.

Prone is with 3 x20kg plates and a 20lb weighted vest on.

Supine is loaded with 6x20kg plates and a vest.

Both held for as long as possible 2x each.

Well, met up with spug_myers aka. Chris for a session tonight.

Turns out we're both of similar strength levels so we did the following.

Box Squats (Green Bands) Both of us squat about the 220kg mark and are both 5'11

The Green bands give an extra 70kg at the top and 37.5 at the bottom.

10 sets of 3 reps 80kg (150kg at the top, 117.5kg at the bottom)

Front Squats (Ass to grass)

70kg x 5
70kg x 5
80kg x5
80kg x 5
80kg x 5

Romanian Deadlifts

110kg 3 sets of 8

Glute Ham Raises 3x 8-12 Reps

2 Sets of Walking Lunges 24 strides 24kg then 32kg, knee to floor.

Great session and great to train with someone like minded and interested in throwing some weight around!

Well, just to make sure such bold statements dont go unnoticed......

At 100kg Bodyweight....thats you spug

A 220 Squat gives you a 2.2 Strength to weight ratio

A 155 Bench gives you 1.55

A 275 Deadlift gives you 2.75 obviously......

At the meagre 90kg bodyweight I am my.....

210 Squat gives me 2.34

150 Bench gives me 1.67

270 Deadlift gives me and 3.01 (Yes thats 3x Bodyweight!)

Although this should never be admitted online, I cannot currently match my PBs Unhappy

So I think things are probably pretty even, which should be interesting.
