I'm talking to myself here Member 4644, 216 posts SQ 0, BP 70, DL 160 230.0 kgs @ 75kgs UnEq	On my way to Stoke and happy to provide my usual slightly patchy and occasionally inaccurate updates on today's team competition. Also to include Z's log WR attempt (!) and Ortmayer / Tom Stoltman attempting a 255kg atlas stone. Is anyone at the U23 World Championship this morning?

I'm talking to myself here Member 4644, 216 posts SQ 0, BP 70, DL 160 230.0 kgs @ 75kgs UnEq	Events for the team competition: 1 - Husafell stone (184kg) for distance, 2 min (one man at a time) 2 - Two man log for max weight, starting at 200kg and rising  3 - Car deadlift for reps (one man at a time) 4 - Barrel hold for time (each person holding one side of 400kg basket) 5 - Tyre loading (one 100kg tyre each rhen a larger two man tyre) Weather: cold rain. If you are on your way here, wrap up warm.

The track is some sort of slippy looking plastic matting now under 2 inches of pooling water and athletes are skidding all over the shop. For me, conditions verging on unsafe but perhaps I am over cautious. All four teams in the first heat did roughly two lengths. A Hadge stacked it in the rain a couple of times. Trey Mitchell off to a very impressive start. Second heat - everyone else. Dreadful start for O'Dwyer/Bilton who fumble initial pick up then never manage to get going. Handover slows down Shivlyakov/Janashia. Awesome performance from Lalas2. Event winners : Team Knights (Licis / Mitchell)

Legends 23 Celts 12 Yankees 31 Bravehearts 26 Knights 32 Bears 25 Barbarians 31 Pirates 1 For the Pirates, Heinla started and his hand slipped on the first rep. Kieliszkowski tagged in and pulled one rep then stepped away. Happy to bomb out of that event it seems.

It's a weird one. Look out for it at Christmas. Pirates - very short  Celts - 46 seconds Legends - 55 sec  Bears - 47 sec (perhaps) Bravehearts - 63 sec Yankees - 75 sec Barbarians - 76 sec Knights -  87 sec
