Check out my vid - just light pulls with 120kg and 140kg, I reckon my form looks better.

Decided to try and ape the form used by Brian shaw to see if it suits me. Just wanting to see if anyone can see anything drastically wrong?

Nothing looks particularly wrong from that angle, but it seems like you could perform a more convincing lockout.

never been a fan of shaw's stance, clearly it works for him.. but it looks almost like a semi sumo foot width but with hands outside
your's looks a fair bit narrower.

Fair comment, I just need more practice.

I suppose it was an incorrect choice of words but it was watching him pull that made me consider bringing my stance out about wider. I'm only 6'3 so I'd hope I wouldn't need to go out as far as him!

I think Brandon Lilly posted something about people trying to mimick Bryan Shaw's pulling style and get gave some interesting points.

Namely his heigh, weight, waist etc.

To put it simply he pulls like that because he is so big, pulling like that if you average Joe probably wont work.

I can see Brandon's logic. I'll certainly dig out his bit later on!

In my defence, the back appears straighter/ doesn't move and the legs seem come into the lift more.

I don't have the time, money or desire to invest in a coach (online or otherwise) so vids for self assessment, experimentation and asking for opinions is what I'm happy doing. It's all just a bit of fun!

Your back angle is very flat which I don't think is the most economical position to be in.

Also as others have said your lockout is very soft - at these sorts of weighs you should be pounding the bar. Maybe bringing your heels in and keeping the toes pointed out more will help mobilise your glutes - this worked for me.

But what do I know!

I have tried pulling like Misha. Enjoyed it and seen immediate gains.

Yep. Just raise my hips a bit and explode. Awesome difference to my speed.

Looks a solid style but maybe not optimum. Experimenting with dips aka andy B into the lift might help, I nicked them off Andy and they work for me. i had them prior to going to see andy but he looked at them and fine tuned them. When I went to see tom he moved my knees slightly further forward giving me a little more floor speed which has reaped rewards.
