Just started lifting again a few months ago after a few years of layoff... this is my heaviest deadlift so far in the "comeback"

Would you call this hitching? Would it pass in a PL comp?

Could go either way.

Be lucky to get away with that, slight downward movement on the bar when your bouncing around (and to be especially pedantic the bar drops half an inch when you hyper extend your back at the end). On the plus side you had basically finished the pull so all the jiggling around was unnecessary, just needed to drive hips forward to finish.

I'd be more concerned with that huge hyperextension at the top than the hitching

Thanks man. I agree with most of your points BUT just 1 little thing -

From the IPF rule book -

the If the bar settles as the shoulders come back (slightly downward on completion) this should not be reason to disqualify the lift.

That's hitched. It would fail in a comp.

Pete's right.

Ever considered working on your technique? How rounded your back gets is giving you good speed off the floor, but leaving your hips in a terrible position to lock out. Hence your hitch.

It's a hitch but you seem to have the strength to do it without one.
