A friend who does bjj has recently recommended the above as a pre workout, energy maintenance supp

has any one any info or opinions on it? He claims it helps to keep him rolling for longer

(Im aware there are 'other' things that are already proven to help)

A pre-workout supplement that contains a word I can't pronounce and another that contains a number. Can't be good.

Stuff like this always strikes me as OTT. I'm not Usain Bolt. I don't need to be that energised before my squat/bench/deadlift workout. I'd just feel stupid buying it and ever more stupid taking it.

Coffee is fine.

Remember reading about it in muscle media. Isnt it some kind of fungus that grows on dead caterpillers?

That was in Flex about 20 years ago lol. They werent dead though. I remeber thinking another expensive overhyped product at the time. About as much use as FRAC for those old enough to recall that one!

Cordyceps doesn't just grow on dead insects, it grows on them BEFORE they are dead, modifying behaviour in an interestingly ghoulish way, as shown on Planet Earth a few years back. Also if you've ever played the Last of Us you'll know all about it!
