ive only ever used my belt at the dungeon, but tend to not use it at the gym.
is it worth it?
only on the heaviest squats, deads etc to support the back, or will it just make the core weak?

see people who where them all the time, but i carnt see that being good for the core?

what are your thoughts?

I use mine when lifting equipped or on heavy stuff with risk like power shrugs with 340ish etc, other than that I don't bother as I am still developing my lifts.
A developed lifter is a different matter and each person is diffeent too, if you don't 'need' to wear a belt and you are not at risk don't bother, if your form is crap even with light weights or you need it as a placebo then wear one.

Some fantastic lemonites don't wear belts, most powerlifters do, certainly in competition. I couldn't imagine taking out a max attempt squat without a belt, personally.

For what its worth I tend to put a belt on squatting from 180kgs upwards, and doing pulls it goes on around 220kgs and up - my back doesn't mind the lighter weights sans belt. I have had two back surgeries, but everything has been ticketyboo last few years touch wood.

Overall - 1. Find out what fees right for YOU. 2. Even if you do use one, don't come to over rely on it.

im no expert and have s**t lifts buttttt i do work with and without my belt.

wearing the belt, for me anyway, changes the lift slightly and requires slightly different technique. So the way i see it if i practice lifting with it ill get better at using it to its full potential. On the other hand i dont want to become reliant on it so have now introduced beltless stuff too. best of both worlds i guess

that makes sense to me, i dont need one in the gym, doing fine, although my back can be sore. yes at strongman as i have bust my back before now.
i do seem to get back pain just walking tho, which has made me think if there is somat in there going.

People think I'm daft, but I very rarely wear a belt

I will wear one sometimes for heavy (well heavy for me LOL) squats & heavy yoke

Anything else a no no for me, find it restrictive on DL especially
