Hey, is there anybody else on here who is wheat intolerant?

had to stop eating wheat over the last few weeks. i feel much better but have lost 3 pounds already which i would rather keep on. this is mainly down to cutting out pasties, pies, bread, pasta and biscuits.

i think its mainly fat that ive lost but dont want to lose much more. i was wondering if anybody can think of some caloriffic meals that don't include chips!

ey my wife hass a wheat intolerance - as in she can have a bit but if she nails a lot it starts giving trouble. You have similar?

Pasta etc is no problem, there are tons of good non what pastas around man. i actually prefer some of them over normal one. Try different brands to see what you like?

the wheat free breads suck ass tho.

there are wheat free gravy sauces too, again try some different ones too.

Try health food shops and holland & barrets etc for some stuff too on top of the supermarkets "free from" sections.

An old girlfriend had Coeliac disease and there's a book printed by the coeliac society that lists all the products by the main manufacturers, supermarkets and fast food outlets that are gluten free. As Joni said the pasta's aren't bad as long as you cook them perfectly but most of the bread products I found were fairly poor substitutes for the real thing.

This is good advice. Also, sweet potatoes differ from white potatoes in that sweets can be eaten raw. They taste kinda carroty I suppose. White potatoes cannot be eaten raw.

Sweet potatoes can be zapped in the microwave for a 5 minutes and eaten just like that; they're delicious.

cheers for the feedback/ideas guys.

and joni, pasta seems to be the worst thing for me, possibly because i've always ate it in large portions, an yea the bread sucks i have corn wraps for work now, but even they have wheat flour in them! but only a little which seems to be ok.

i also need to find some wheat free sausages cos fry ups just arnt the same anymore!
