the UK's leading expert in bio mechanics Member 1973, 7379 posts | I think it's one of those things a lot of people don't really consider, just strap up and go. I think it's entirely worth taking the time to get it right though.

Member 5141, 4199 posts SQ 300, BP 180, DL 350830.0 kgs @ 130kgs UnEq | Im hoping most of the 'wrong' ways to strap up were purely hypothetical and not something youve actually seen people do? Strapping up with a kink in the strap for example is just plain unholy and anyone who thinks that acceptable behaviour for intelligent lifeforms should be put down.

Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22043 posts | Never realised there was so much to it! Gerrit Badenhorst lifted with a mixed grip with straps in the final of WSM 1996, pulling 410kg. As a very experienced powerlifter he was obviously most comfortable with the mixed grip.

The world famous projectile vomit master Member 1293, 443 posts SQ 210, BP 155, DL 280645.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | The most common strap use error I see, is people wrapping them the in the same direction as their fingers... They seem very frustrated when the straps make almost no difference to their grip
