This 9/10 is a very poor que for lifters. Probably even wores for an unequipped squatter. Don't worry about the knees moving foreward. Worry about other stuff (eg hips and back) and the knee movement will do whats right for the lifter.
Looks good tech

Thanks guys!

Although I wish you guys were a lot pickier Happy Luuuukey - great observation! I'm having some issues with the setup due to subpar bars and rack- also not having 200kg+ weight on my back for near 2 months doesn't help either. A lot of energy was wasted unracking and walking it out.

Iain- great advice and I agree that forcing the perpendicular shins isn't really that ideal for my bodytype.. just end up leaning forward a lot and not reach depth.

Pompy- f**k you every much but I do agree that the squat wasn't that deep esp based on the feed back of training partner and as well as pausing the vid. I think it is in but could be a 2:1 fail in some cases - see some of Tom Martin's squatsHappy

The weight is 87% of 1RM. Hopefully if my plan for the next 8 weeks work (Project 250kg squat), it will only be 80% of 1RM.

I would agree. But I would add that it was a little too slow, too tentative, lacking in fluency and needing a bit more dig at the bottom.

You remember when you were a kid and you had those books where each page had a slightly different picture on it and when the pages were flicked through the image moved ?

You need to double the number of pages in your squat-book. Smoother and faster and with more confidence. Other than that - fine

Well deeper never hurt anyone mind but looked clearly in from that angle so wouldn't worry.

Ageed, 29 seconds in the top surface of the hip is clearly below the knee and it's plenty deep, also it's easier for short guys to go mega deep and get up but for taller guys going deeper than you need to go doesn't help.

Not sure if you will see this, but do you (or anyone else on here) think these are better? Same weight, but for 3 reps. Quite a light weight but hesitant to go heavier without sorting out tech first.

tz knows me a bit from here so he knows the value of the advice he is getting is not the same as the top PLs on here...

i never said the squat didnt look deep enough... like i said if you train past depth then surely you always pass depth (was my theory f**k knows if it works)

You don't have to explain yourself mate; my coach who has competed in the BWLA/GBPF/IPF for 20 years, tells me the same thing about making training harder then competition.
