Every person I know who smokes smells like a farm. A very dirty farm. Isn't that the point ? Everything you say is true, everyone knows it is true. yet millions smoke. They pay huge amounts to stink and make themselves ill. Considering the downsides, which are myriad and formidable, there must be some very serious upsides.

Whilst nicotine is clearly very addictive and that level of physiological addiction takes different ingestion levels to achieve amongst different people. It's rare that it happens instantly. That suggest that those addicted chose to do it for a period of time before they became addicted, and therefore gained some, maybe ill conceived, benefit.

Some of my happiest life memories have been sat on a balcony, overlooking beaches in SE Asia with a strong cup of coffee, a cigarette, a good book and a view akin to paradise. simple things.

I hit a pb today with a chest infection Member 3283, 1921 posts | I smoked for around 13 years. Gave up not Christmas gone but the one before. I ended up having the odd mini cigar when drinking to help with that side of it. Then I bought one of those vapour things to have instead. My drinking ended up cutting down and now I barely drink either. Think I've had about 3 pints since Christmas. Been a fisherman you get those coffee/looking out appreciating scenery moments every time you go so the vapour cig comes in handy for that too. I miss smoking more than I miss drinking, but obviously I'm a lot healthier for it. Just binge on chocolate now instead lol!
