Maybe Caron drops too many points on dumbbell?

Tom has 2-3 good events there for sure.

Heinla/Novikov?

Guessing they’ll be top 4 but some of these guys I haven’t heard of and some of them are coming back from injuries.

I think Caron will smash the 15" deadlift and a few might night make it through the Atlas Stones in the Middle East heat. Nivikov isn't so great on Deadlift at that height, but if its a yoke carry in the mystery event he should win that and the loading medley.

I'd Tom or Luke. Maybe Tom with the long stone run with 225kg at the end. That seems grueling in the sun. Tom is looking very strong on log now, possible mystery event, but will the extra size to move hamper him in 30+ degrees: https://www.instagram.com/p/CLpnQ12AyVC/?igshid=1t1vv84s1jb9e
Luke isn't as square and the events aren't super heavy so I had him with the edge.

2: Oleksii Novikov
3: JF Caron

Tom wins stones, Novikov wins DB, Tom beats Novikov at Deadlift....?

It’s a tough one to call. But JF is solid all round so I think he’s definitely top 3.

Would really like to see Luke S, Bish & Terry all battling for top spots too of course.

whats the setup here?

intial glance id back a tstolt, super nova battle with the latter coming out on top. particularly if the mystery event is shoulder based.

"EVENT 1:
-
The Axle Death Lift
-
The rising bar event where athletes must lift and load each of the 6 increments from 320kg up to 440kg in the fastest time possible.

An event never seen or done before to bring out the raw element of strongman, inspired by Feats of Strength Athlete Trey Mitchell who lifted and loaded 400kg for reps in our FOS Season 2.

No loaders , no spotters just the athletes , some heavy weights and an axle bar .

Let the DEATH lift begin!"

Not being funny but who the f**k is gonna load 440kg onto an axle and then lift it in any sort of reasonable time, let alone do all the other lifts first?!

I assume it means ‘load’ as in, onto a small platform as opposed to actually loading the weight on the bar?

Very true.

Heinla is the only one I can see completing this event. But even he will
probably struggle given his finger. Can’t imagine him doing well enough on anything else to place though

It will be loading plates on to the bar, that's what Mitchell did during the feats of strength series.
As it's from 15" and not the floor loading the plates won't be so hard, just constantly strapping and unstrapping will take the time.

thats what I was thinking. might be a case of 'sounds cool in theory but not so much in practice'. hopefully not.

a promoter coming up with a brand new event that works and is entertaining is a rare thing indeed.

Oh right, fair enough. That sounds pretty terrible....

Plate loading onto a bar... not a test of strength as much as a test of gym etiquette?
