He might only be 24 but he has been both training and trenning hard for quite a few years... 120kgs extra would require his dad becoming a lot stronger at zerchers for sure.

In the world record (sans wraps) total Eric did, his dad wasn't spotting; he set him up at the bar - but then moved aside for the regular spotter. No zerchers needed. Wink

Can literally think of few things worse than a bench press event in a strongman comp.

Will never understand the obsession with turning strongman into a glorified powerlifting comp. I want to see people squatting cars not Olympic bars/weights in a comp.

Should be the Harlem Globetrotters/Freak Show of the strength world.

Powerlifting was formed out of a group of lifters who weren't happy with the standardisation of the format that became (the 3 lift total of) olympic lifting and went off and started their own fed. Within this fed every time someone had a disagreement they went off and started their own fed. Disagreement. Own fed. Disagreement. Own fed.......

Your powerlifting utopia sounds like a very romantic notion but in all honesty I think you've got more chance of plaiting s**t than seeing it. Powerlifting is destined to be split and fragmented. It's the nature of the beast.

Anyway... here's a picture of a naked bird

Ray Williams! I have no doubt Blaine Sumner, Branton Kelly and Uepa Jezza will hit it at some point also.

A controversial question, but is Ray Williams arguably the first clean athlete to break 1000kg?

Saying that, apparently Mark Henry was also!

I would love if big sexual chocolate was the first man to do it. He's a cracking strength athlete.

Zahir does, Eric competes at 140.

Apparently Eric is the only man to total 1050kg without knee wraps too.

Yes Eric is 308. Forgot that. I thought he looked a bit big for 125.
