I'm by no means the most experienced man here, but I do not remember ever seeing a spotter on a deadlift. Clearly I'm not alone in that.

Oh, quite so, I am just a little suprised by how many people are asking what that guy is there for - it is probably more a comment on the thousands of deadlifts I have watched over the years, but it is quite common in many of the non-IPF Feds and even Strongman Deadlift events.

I assuredly state that this is a good lift. Congratulations to George. This is an epic achievement. I was at a powerlifting contest yesterday and whilst a competitor was grinding out his last deadlift attempt he fainted and dropped back to smack his head against the floor. A spotter standing behind the deadlifter would not be unreasonable.

TL:dr Member 5489, 131 posts SQ 320, BP 200, DL 310830.0 kgs @ 118kgs UnEq | Great lift, if you go on his youtube he talks about how he would work upto the weight.saying he had one shot only because hook grip will tear his hands open as happened in training. To end on it's about time one of the young uns with huge deads had a great deadlift performance. The young uns refer to chris hickson pete rubish George leeman.
