You're right - shocking planning. I was only wise AFTER the event. I'm just so desperate to get my OH pressing to a decent/good level. About 3 years ago, from the rack, I push pressed 120kg for a single. OK, not outstanding but not bad either.

There is always some areas to improve, like you could have hit some hang cleans or something. Thats the beauty of strongman training that pretty much anything you do will benefit

always lookIng for the extra UT2 work. Member 9, 18279 posts SQ 210, BP 167.5, DL 260637.5 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq | Back on track Pete. Good session. Forget the other day - 2 days rest isn't enough and you know it. You'll nail the set/reps next time after a proper rest. You coming to the dungeon this week?

I want to be at the dungeon but the Mrs, just as she did last weekend, is doing the big "you always get what you want" routine. What day and time is the planned sesh?

has spent time in a modern educational setting Member 47, 1221 posts | Strongman Saturday (24/11/07) Log press 70kg x 3 80kg x 2 90kg x 2 90kg x 3 90kg x 2 felt very close to passing the sticking point on the third and should have got it Farmers walk 70kg x 40m 100kg x 20m 115kg x 40m (dropped after about 25m, had a 15-20 second breather then completed the 40m) 80kg x 80m (dropped after 60m, 10 second breather then completed the 80m) Both drops were more to do with fitness/muscular endurance than grip Stones to 54 inches 105kg x 1, 130kg x 1, 140kg x 1, 150kg x x Not too upset about the failure as my legs and hips were already feeling fried from the farmers and the 140kg stone had been pretty tough. Jonny said I actually got the height on the 150kg but was too far away from the platform. I then walked forward and knocked the power rack into the wall and dropped the stone. Quite scary for a second. Feeling OK about the sesh. Not upset but not happy either.

has spent time in a modern educational setting Member 47, 1221 posts | Post Edited: 27.11.2007 @ 21:27 PM Joined the local "health club" the other day, mainly to take my little 2 year old swimming. However they have a small free weights section in the gym; which includes a squat rack.Push Presses (from the rack) 5 X 20kg 5 X 60kg 2 X 92.5kg 1 X 92.5kg WTF 1 X 92.5kg WTF 1 X 92.5kg WTF 1 X 92.5kg Widened my grip a touch and got a good "snap" off my shoulders. However, on the second rep I got a good snap into the chin. Probably done this less than 5 times in my whole training life. 1 X 92.5kg 1 X 92.5kg 1 X 92.5kg I don't know what excuse to make this time because I haven't trained since Saturday, I wasn't in the rain, I didn't even have to clean the f**kin bar. My bodyweight isn't low, I've done waaaay more in the past so should be gaining back quickly but that's two shocking shoulder sessions in a row. I'll see how I go next session with this routine before making any decisions on where to go next.
