Although DHEA lacks long term research to document its side effects, this doesn't mean it has none. Far from it. Below is a quick list of possible DHEA side effects and DHEA "danger". * Like any and all androgenic steroid, DHEA can cause hair loss, especially in men. DHEA tends to increases levels of DHT (dihydrotestosterone), along with testosterone, and DHT is a main cause in hair loss. * DHEA use can lead to acne problems, as most of you probably know that testosterone can cause acne problem among others. * DHEA can lead to menstrual irregularities in women. It can also accelerate facial hair growth, and deepen voice. * DHEA can convert to estrogen and this can lead to unwanted "feminine" characteristics in men. * Long term use of DHEA can increase risk for breast cancer, ovary cancer, and prostate cancer. * DHEA can also lead to prostate enlargement. * Other DHEA side effects include irritability, and restlessness Careful mate, you've not got much hair left as it is

You cant document what seems not to have been researched. It doesnt take too much effort to find the long term stats for smoking, drinking, obesity fatalities for eg, but where is the research that has studied 100,000 long term AAS users? Creatine users? DHEA users? (please dont blindly believe that despite this being new on OUR marketplace that it hasnt been around for a long time). I'm not saying it doesnt exist, it just doesnt seem very forthcomming for such a hot potatoe.

But then again they dont do larger scale clinical studies on any kind of negative effect trials, that would be against the ethics or some sort if they were deliberately seeking to cause the negative effects to study them. hey just saw a youtube clip which was asking the same kind of thing, where is the proof about steroids being harmful and lethal:

I can see the funny side of that, but insinuating that anyone with anything greater than a double crown is a raving gear head may offend some people http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/5453/bully1xq0.gif

Smoking, Drinking, Obesity? Masses of people are already in the PED usage bracket without more being tempted into it for the sake of studies. Why not just study the millions already using? If the figures were that grim surley they would be rammed down the throat of any up and comming would be user?

always lookIng for the extra UT2 work. Member 9, 18279 posts SQ 210, BP 167.5, DL 260637.5 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq | All those potential DHEA side effects are side effects of increased test levels (which is what DHEA is supposed to do). Apart from Andy, everyone I've spoken to and most of the 'gurus' say DHEA is a pile of crap. If DHEA works for you Andy, you might find Androstenedione even better as as Alex said, DHEA is a precursor to it, which itself is a precursor to test production. Have you taken, or had any success, with any other 'test boosting' supplements?

Not sure what test boosters are out there TBH. I didnt even know that DHEA was until this thread LOL. It came recomended from a friend in the know (medical background as opposed to gear) who I trust to be right. Was after suggestions for course duration etc but looks like I'm the guinea pig on this one I picked up a voicemail on leaving the gym regarding the testing situation if anyone is interested. Turns out DHEA levels vary massively not only between individuals, but also within the same person at various times of the day. In theory making testing for it a bit of a farce. Shock horror eh?
