I work for a housing association. My area of expertise is landlord and tenant relations, housing law, community regeneration.

Poor session last night - worked up to 240kgs for a couple of singles which felt awful.

All this skiving off doing heavy pulls has caught up with my deadlift big time. I thought the carry over from the squats would see me right but this is blatantly not the case.

I have resolved to remedy this state of affairs forthwith. Once the comp is out the way, "operation deadlift" will commence.

It might come together on the day, and it might not. I'm fairly relaxed about it. If I had hammered the deads and was in this position, I'd be more concerned.

I'm a few kilos too big for the suit just now, more kettlebell action is planned in for the weekend.

I think the deadlift will make a big leap forwards soon. Like we've said neither of us have done much with the bar on the floor of late.
The squats looked strong on tuesday and look to be getting better week by week! I think you might not have recovered fully from squatting, I know I had'nt!

Training consistently last week but missed making a few entries in this training log due to no particular reason.

In summary, have got a comp this Sunday down in Swansea with the Welsh Powerlifting Union which is affiliated to the GBPF. Squatting is going great, benching is fine and deadlifting is not anywhere near where it should be, I would take 260kgs right now. I will be hoping to get home with circa 800kgs total at 110kgs.

Last nights, last bench session:

Press on Bench
60x3
100x3
140x3
160x1
200x1 (old shirt - this felt heavy, the shirt being too loose)
220x1 (50 katana - felt light and fraction away from a touch)

Some chin ups - 5,5,5,4 (I am crap at these)
Some pullovers in a machine

Bodyweight is 111kgs first thing, no beer for the rest of the week Angry

Some light squats and pulls tonight and that will be that.
