I ♥ Dr. Gillian McKeith Member 17, 742 posts SQ 0, BP 180, DL 0180.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | What do you think are the best forms of cardio for someone who trains? Im taking my dog out first thing in the morning before breakfast around a massive field and normally cover the same distance.. 3 or 4 laps around. Sometimes i do a very light jog around it for a couple of laps or other times i just walk it at a speedy pace. Is there an advantage in either/or? What about sprints, rows etc ? for someone who lifts weights and obviously wants to hold onto muscle.

Do hugs, not drugs. Member 136, 712 posts SQ 380, BP 242.5, DL 330952.5 kgs @ 110kgs Eq | Low intensity cardio has its place in fat burning but not much else. HIT is best, for strength athletes, no question about it. I do hill sprints, flat sprints, occasionally sled pulls and tyre pulls. The concept II rower is another good tool.

some nice relaxing jazz. Member 77, 12599 posts SQ 265, BP 165, DL 280710.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | I'd go with rowing as no impact. Wrestling sounds like fun. I could think a great alter ego and costume, plus plots and stunts to be involved in, eg gay wedding, crucify the feds owners daughter, jump of scaffolding, chair shots, the list of fun wrestling cardio goes on

Member 143, 237 posts SQ 340, BP 245, DL 310895.0 kgs @ 120kgs Eq | My personal favourites Sandbag work Kettlebells Sled/Tyre dragging Mountain biking Power clean/squat circuits Rowing I used to do Judo a lot as well, damn did that keep me anaerobically conditioned. But I sadly had to give that up. Simple answer would be, anything that raises your heart rate about resting level for any period of time and doesnt bore the pants off you.
