I'm Gaz, have done a few novice strongman things in the past but want to make a good go of it this year. Have entered the Welsh u90's in May off the back of a fun push/pull comp back in December which went very well.

Deadlift and squat have been going very well this year. Main things i need to work on for the comp are yoke and overhead. Fitness is also s**t so this needs some work.

Started the program this week. Main focus points will be: general trunk strength, single leg / single arm work. I tested yoke and while I could move the comp weight for the distance (330kg) it was unstable as hell and i was wobbling all over the place. So not fast.

Keeping things light for a bit with some higher reps to get back into the swing of things. Today was a light day before some more deadlifts tomorrow. Should be doing some yoke and carries on Sunday too which i'm looking forward to!

Barbell Push Press

Cleaned the bar from the floor each set.


Yoke
30mtr x 270kg

After the first two sets my speed was dropping too much so reduced the distance.


Low Block Deadlifts
8 x 210kg
8 x 190kg

These felt great. Trying to save my lower back a bit after yoke.


Flat DB Bench
12 x 35kg
12 x 27.5kg

Some accessory stuff at the end. I'm surprisingly s**t at any dumbell exercise.



Overall decent session, really sore today though. Hopefully these breakfast burritos will sort me out!

Really quite badly suck at reps nowadays haha. Building up volume gradually so stopping just shy of it being a grinder. Bodyweight over the last two weeks has gone from 91 to 88.5 so happy with how that's going.
