Intensity and volume will change, but always heavy. I stopped thinking of volume as reps; and started thinking of overall work.

3x7 @ 70%, induced more fatigue for me than 20 singles at 85%, and the latter improved my power much more than the former. If anything, the reps at 7 made me feel great and 'pumped', but I didn't get any stronger for it.
