An old, fat fool starts a log. Hope no-one minds

I had the car serviced in late September and whilst there booked in for its MOT on Tuesday the fourth of November at two o'clock. I always book either Tuesday or Thursday as they are non-training days.

Imagine my surprise therefore when yesterday at noon, I received a text reminding me of my appointment TODAY at two.

I bit the bullet and didn't bother rearranging. Traffic on the way there was easy-peasy and home was hell on wheels. I am also £230 lighter but do have two new front tyres to show for it.

Not the best day ever, but far from the worst. And it did pass.

Two shocking blunders today with the third and fifth attempts, Happily this is very rare, sadly, it happened. Literally by the skin of my teeth today. Phew indeed.

A three which could have very easily gone awry and ended up as a disaster. I gambled on the third and if it hadn’t worked out it could have been a real struggle.

In with a chance of a two, which caused the usual giddiness. As you see I was wrong and got it on the next go. Exactly why that so annoyed me is unclear, but it did. After all I didn't make a mistake, the second word was a perfectly reasonable and viable choice and couldn't be faulted despite its incorrectness. But I was annoyed all the same.

Ambitious as I went for it with not too much to go on and fortunate as I only discovered the word last week when I watched an episode of "Endeavour" with that title.
