Mick I'm hoping this consultant will do a procedure to sort the joint or numb the nerve as it has become hyper sensitive so that will hopefully let me do things like rugby again and also compete.

I've read about those sort of nerve problems where the injury has healed itself but because the nerve as got damaged you still get pain! bas***d back's!
All the Best mate, I do hope it sorts if for you.

Cheers mate. I hope there's still life in my back but it really has been bothering me for a long time. Fingers crossed the rehabbing/sensible training will pay off in time for next year!

glad to hear things are getting better mate, you will be back to top form in no time im sure. saw u when i was competing at the uk north final, was gonna say hello but nearly died after the car walk

Yes mate. You looked big and strong TBH but that car walk looked utterly brutal!!
Hopefully we'll get chance to compete against each other next year!

richards9876 said:Great to see some regular updates mate. Hows the back feeling recently?

I'm getting slightly more free time now grass and bushes are starting to cease growing!! I'm more or less sure it is getting better. I get off days sometimes but on the whole I think it's going in the right direction. I'm my own worst enemy in that I probably don't give it enough time, but I'm trying to hold back even when my last set on squats and deadlifts are easy.
I've been trying extension stretches the past couple of weeks and they seem to have helped.
Also I bought a gym ball a few months back so I'm going to do some core stability work which might help the old problem.

Cheers Mick the 170 x 5 was a nice surprise
Find the power snatch good on the back but not the power cleans so much small steps but I'll get there
The back is ok just getting a little stronger but hoping to get the problem fixed soon in Aberdeen

Smalls steps are the way mate. What's happening in Aberdeen, operation? What is the diagnosis?

The 170 X 5 squats looked good mate! Some good sessions. How are you finding the Snatches, I've always been a bit scared of them! How is your back now?

Cheers Neil. The misses and Jack are doing well thanks. My back is feeling sort of ok at the moment. It was a little stiff and sore this morning after last nights session so isn't really ready just yet.

Thanks fellas. I really want to get back to heavy squats and deadlifts but reckon the cautious approach might be in order for now!
Mr Small:- Not quite a guns session. Don't worry I won't be covering myself in fake tan or parading myself about in posing trunks LOL!
