Worlds Strongest Man Results Filter Through

16th September 2010 - Posted by Rob Results for the group stages of the Worlds Strongest Man Competition are filtering through from spectators in South Africa. This is despite reports that the competition organisers (namely TWI and Colin Bryce) have attempted to censor all results being made public - even going as far as to threaten athletes with disqualification from the competition if they leak results.

Whilst this approach may be slightly absurd in an era of open communication, a full spreadsheet of current results is being updated daily.

The main talking points so far unfortunately revolve around injuries. Darren Sadler exited the competition in the warm-up for the tyre flip, tearing his biceps. It is also reported that the reigning champion and hot favourite Zydrunas Savickas has torn a lat and may not be able to continue.

Terry Hollands is currently leading his group (which includes American Derek Poundstone) and Laurence Shahlaei is in second place just behind Savickas. Mark Felix occupies third position in his group, with Mark Westaby and Rob Frampton both doing well in the final group.

Keep an eye on the forum thread for the latest news and updates.
