Iran Weightlifting Team Withdraws

18th December 2009 - Posted by Rob The IWF reports that the Iranian Weightlifting team have withdrawn from competitions, including the Asian Games, for the time being.

The team has apparently been beset by turmoil, including poor performances and several lifters testing positive for banned substances.

The Iranian Weighlifting team has produced some world-class lifters in recent years, including Hossein Rezazadeh (now a coach).
