I've also had confirmation that I can compete and the BDFPA British championships at the beginning of April (just over 4 weeks time) and I've decided to take part.
I'll be far from top form, but it's on over Easter weekend in Glasgow, so I'm going to take the family for an extended mini break - I might as well spend a few hours lifting whilst I'm there Grin

Hello Macca,

I saw you compete a couple of years back at the BDFPA Nationals in Bournemouth I think it was, and have been following your journal ever since. I will be competing for the first time at nationals this year (long old drive up north) and am glad to hear that you will be competing even with your bionic knee. I hope it all goes well and I will look out for you, good luck!
» Strength Shop - new products and updates (Go to post)14-12-2011 @ 12:44
Hey Buzz,

I have just received some strength shop knee wraps, once again speedy delivery.

I think they may be a little bit too small for me (they crumple as I squat) can I send them back for a bigger size? I've literally done 3 or 4 body weight squats in them. There was no receipt in the parcel like there usually is with your products though?

Cheers,

Mike

hrat said:Cool. I started lifting almost 3 years ago now, but my first comp. was last October. The year before that I was just ticking along, not getting weaker but not getting stronger. Competing was inspiration to try and get actually strong. By the way, the UK unequipped qualifying total for a 63 is 210; although I think thats a bit pathetic, it's a nice ego boost.

Awesome, I shall keep that in mind. As you say, an ego boost if nothing else! Good training recently by the looks of it, good clean and jerk, my max clean is WAY above my jerk max!! Keep on trucking through the lurgy!!!

Strong looking stuff here. I am just getting my girlfriend into powerlifting (she's a sprinter at heart) and it turns out she has VERY similar numbers to you, at the same bodyweight. So I shall keep an interested eye on your progress Happy

9am?
» Terry Hollands, 440k Deadlift (Go to post)13-01-2011 @ 23:45
VERY impressive!!!

Love the comparison, theres Terry doing a great lift like that, then you've got 'billy no-shirt' in the background DB pressing like 10kg and not taking the blind bit of interest in this cracking lifting!!!
